Kenny Hulshof will lead Missouri into the next decade by offering innovative ideas and meaningful solutions.
Taxes
Kenny Hulshof has a well-established reputation as a leader in easing the tax burden of middle-class Americans. He helped author the historic tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 that provided over $1.6 trillion in relief to American taxpayers, and he has led the fight to make those tax cuts permanent. Kenny has also been at the forefront of the effort to eliminate the federal death tax.
Kenny’s record validates his pledge not to raise state taxes, and his experience will enable him to craft tax policy that will promote job creation while ensuring Missourians keep more of their hard-earned money.

Economy
Kenny Hulshof understands the plight of small business owners in Missouri, because he is one. That personal experience has instilled in him a commitment to the pro-jobs and anti-tax policies that have garnered him praise from small business and farm groups.
Kenny believes a business-friendly climate is essential in order to attract the high-quality jobs of the 21st century. He is the only candidate who will defend Republican-enacted lawsuit abuse reforms that have freed Missouri’s doctors and small business owners from the threat of frivolous lawsuits, and he has pledged to hold the line on job killing taxes. Kenny will collaborate with local officials to recruit quality employers to the state, and he will work with state colleges and universities to ensure that new graduates have an opportunity to utilize their skills right here in Missouri.
As governor, Kenny will conduct a comprehensive review of the state’s tax credit system and take corrective actions whenever necessary to ensure that tax dollars are being used for their intended purpose.

Energy
Kenny Hulshof has introduced a series of proposals designed to take advantage
of energy available right here in Missouri. Hulshof’s plan would encourage exploration of
Missouri’s
oil and gas resources. It would also
promote investment in Missouri
for increased production and refinement of those resources.
“For years I have been saying that we should look to the
Midwest instead of the Middle East when it
comes to addressing our nation’s energy needs,” said Hulshof. “That starts with tapping into resources we
have available right here in Missouri. While special interests block efforts to take
advantage of our nation’s domestic energy supply elsewhere, there are solutions
to be found right here in Missouri. We should take every possible step to exploit
those solutions.”

Pro-Life
Kenny Hulshof is proudly and steadfastly pro-life as illustrated by his 100% rating from National Right to Life. He has been a staunch advocate for a ban on partial-birth abortions, he has fought for stronger parental notification laws, and he has and will continue to work to ensure that taxpayer dollars are never used to fund abortions.
As governor, Kenny’s pro-life goals will include the creation of a facility for the storage of non-controversial umbilical cord blood stem cells, which studies show could help fight as many as 70 diseases. He will also push for the passage of legislation that would make it a crime to coerce a woman to have an abortion.

Pro-Second Amendment
Kenny Hulshof has staunchly defended the Second Amendment, and he will continue to do so as governor. He has been a vocal supporter of Missouri’s conceal-and-carry law and has consistently garnered the support of the National Rifle Association. He will oppose efforts to curb the Second Amendment rights of law abiding Missourians and those who seek to infringe upon the rights of hunters.

Illegal Immigration
Over the past decade, Kenny Hulshof has fought to strengthen border security, improve the enforcement of immigration laws and empower law enforcement with the authority to combat illegal immigration. He has also repeatedly opposed Republican and Democrat supported proposals that sought to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants.
As governor, Kenny is committed to blocking the flow of tax dollars to illegal immigrants, and he will work to ban state contractors who hire illegal immigrants from bidding on taxpayer funded projects. He also supports the constitutional amendment to make English the official language of Missouri.

Health Care
Making health care accessible and affordable for all Missourians, while maintaining accountability to taxpayers, is one of Kenny’s top priorities.
The old system of delivering care via the emergency room is neither beneficial to patients or to taxpayers.
Kenny believes in a patient-focused system that revolves around prevention, wellness, and an emphasis on the doctor/patient relationship.

Education
Kenny Hulshof believes that school children can achieve their dreams right here in Missouri, and the foundation starts with access to a world-class education. As governor, Kenny will work to ensure that Missouri’s public schools receive the funding they require as allocated by elected officials, not judges. He will also maintain the momentum created in recent years that has increased education funding without raising taxes.
On the issue of higher education, Kenny is the only candidate who supports the innovative Lewis & Clark Discovery Initiative, which has generated $335 million for Missouri’s colleges, universities, and students without raising a single tax.
As a graduate of the University of Missouri, Kenny understands the burden of mounting tuition and he will work with legislators and college officials to expand scholarship and employment opportunities for Missouri students.

Agriculture
Kenny is a third-generation farmer who runs his family’s farm in southeast Missouri. He understands the challenges facing Missouri’s family farmers, and he has been a tireless advocate on their behalf.
With gas prices at an all-time high, Kenny believes it is time for Missouri to break free from our reliance on foreign sources of energy. He has been a leader in enhancing the market for homegrown fuels like biodiesel and ethanol, and he will advocate for responsible regulation that does not hinder Missouri’s leading industry.
